With the summer break over Nico Jamin will this weekend be back in action for the final race events of the 2016 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires at the famous Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca race track. 

Nico was a double race winner last time out at the Mid-Ohio race course and looks to continue this winning streak to this weekend. 

“I came here last year for the first time racing in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, where I won both races, winning the Championship so it is a special race track for me and coming into this weekend with the two race wins from Mid-Ohio I am feeling confident of a good result, especially as it is the last event of the season. 

"We as a team have worked hard, perhaps deserving better results. The season seems to have run so quickly so we are looking to finish on a high note. I have been working hard over the break so I am fresh and ready to race.” 

About Laguna Seca Raceway

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (previously known as Laguna Seca Raceway) is a paved road racing track used for both auto racing and motorcycle racing, originally constructed in 1957 near both Salinas and Monterey, California, USA.

The current racetrack is 2.238 miles (3.602 km) in length with a 300 foot (91 m) elevation change. It has eleven turns, including the famous "Corkscrew" at Turns 8 and 8A. A variety of racing, exhibition and entertainment events are held at the raceway, ranging from superkarts to American Le Mans racing to music festivals.

The name Laguna Seca is Spanish for "dry lake". The area where the track is was originally a lake. The course was originally built around the lake, which has since dried up entirely. An artificial pond has since been added.
